Auf der Website von Crazy Bulk wird ausführlich beschrieben, wie, wann und besonders auf welche Art und Weise das Produkt zu verwenden ist. Es handelt sich hierbei um ein sogenanntes "Körperfett", welches unter dem Namen Clenbutrol erhältlich ist, und auch unter das Genre Nahrungsergänzungsmittel fällt. Wurde Clenbuterol von einem Arzt verschrieben, können diese Nebenwirkungen natürlich auch auftreten, sie verschwinden allerdings nach wenigen Tagen. Wer Clenbuterol allerdings zu Dopingzwecken nutzt, kann mit einigen unangenehmen Nebenwirkungen rechnen. Zum einen sind es Nebenwirkungen wie beispielsweise Zittern oder Übelkeit, und zum anderen, steigt die Körpertemperatur um bis zu einem Grad Celsius an. Danach kann die Dosierung im Abstand von zwei bis drei Tagen um weitere 20 mcg vom Nutzer gesteigert werden, bis das Dosismaximum ausgeschöpft ist.
Um diese cardiotoxischen Wirkung zu minimieren, könnte allerdings ein beta-1 Antagonist verabreicht werden. Diese Mengen würden bei Menschen nicht tolerable Nebenwirkungen und ernsthafte toxische Wirkungen auf das Herz verursachen. Allerdings bekamen die Tiere die hundert- bis tausendfache Dosierung von dem, was Bodybuilder verwenden würden. Dabei handelt es sich um ein Asthma Medikament, das die beta-2-Adrenozeptoren heraufreguliert. Hierbei wurde Clenbuterol immer nur für 2 Tage in Folge, gefolgt von zwei einnahmefreien Tagen eingenommen.
Schließlich findet man die beta-3-Adrenozeptoren im braunen Fettgewebe. Die beta-2-Adrenozeptoren dagegen in der glatten Muskulatur, der Skelettmuskulatur und im weißen Fettgewebe. Innerhalb dieser Klassifizierungen gibt es außerdem weitere Subtypen (z.B. beta-1, beta-2 und beta-3). Adrenozeptoren werden nach alpha- und beta-Adrenozeptoren gruppiert. Clenbuterol wirkt, indem es an die beta-2-Adrenozeptoren anbindet und diese aktiviert. Erst später fand man heraus, dass das auf der Herunterregulierung der beta-2-Adrenozeptoren beruht. Sportler verwenden es für den Fettabbau, den Aufbau von Kraft und Muskelmasse, sowie zur Aufrechterhaltung der Muskulatur nach einem Steroidzyklus.
Aufgrund seiner fettverbrennenden und muskelaufbauenden Wirkung wird Clenbuterol immer wieder im Leistungssport als Dopingmittel missbraucht. Bei gleichzeitiger Einnahme von anderen Beta-2-Sympathomimetika, Kortikosteroiden, Theophyllin oder Antidepressiva kann es zu einer Verstärkung der Wirkung und Nebenwirkungen von Clenbuterol kommen. Bei bestimmungsgemäßer Anwendung von Clenbuterol treten häufig Nebenwirkungen wie Zittern, Kopfschmerzen, Übelkeit und Palpitationen auf. Clenbuterol ist für die Langzeitbehandlung von Atemwegserkrankungen wie Asthma bronchiale und COPD vorgesehen, nicht jedoch für die Akutbehandlung von Asthma-Anfällen. Die übliche Tagesdosis von Clenbuterol bei Erwachsenen und Kindern ab 12 Jahren beträgt 0,02 mg, die morgens und abends eingenommen wird. Allerdings kann der Missbrauch von Clenbuterol zu schwerwiegenden Nebenwirkungen führen.
Ich mochte die Idee, dass es kein Steroid wie der Rest ist, aber sicher von Männern und Frauen verwendet werden kann, um den Stoffwechsel anzukurbeln, Gewicht zu verlieren und Muskeln zu erhalten. Ich hatte Glück, dass ich noch nie etwas zu Böses erlebt habe, aber all die Horrorgeschichten haben mich gezögert, sie zu verwenden. Dies hielt jedoch nicht lange an – wahrscheinlich, weil es nicht von der FDA genehmigt wurde -, sodass es in den meisten Ländern verboten ist und nicht mehr zur Behandlung von Asthma verwendet wird. Ist es wirklich der richtige Fatburner, von dem jeder behauptet, er sei es, oder ist es einfach ein anderes Produkt, das von Nebenwirkungen geplagt ist? Es ist jedoch sehr wichtig, dass die Einnahme von Clenbuterol aufgrund von Stressfaktoren und Nebenwirkungen auf den Körper nicht länger als 8 Wochen dauert, worauf später noch eingegangen wird.
Wie alle Medikamente ist auch Clenbuterol nicht frei von Nebenwirkungen. Bei einer geringen Tagesdosis wird Clenbuterol in der Regel morgens eingenommen. Deshalb ist es sinnvoll, die Tagesdosis auf zwei Einnahmen zu verteilen. Die in der Praxis übliche Dosierung von Clenbuterol liegt bei 20 bis 160 mcg. Eine vergleichbare Wirkung hat das Schilddrüsenhormon Liothyronin, das ebenfalls fettverbrennend wirkt. Bodybuilder habe verschiedene Möglichkeiten entwickelt, um Clenbuterol längerfristig verwenden zu können.
Die Einnahme weiterer Wirkstoffen, die ebenfalls Beta-Rezeptoren aktivieren, kann die Wirkung und Nebenwirkungen von Clenbuterol verstärken. Die meisten Nebenwirkungen treten besonders zu Beginn der Therapie auf und verschwinden im Verlauf der weiteren Behandlung. Häufige Nebenwirkungen von Clenbuterol sind Zittern, Kopfschmerzen, Unruhegefühl, Übelkeit und Herzklopfen. Die Einzeldosis für Erwachsene und Kinder ab zwölf Jahren beträgt zwischen 0,02 bis 0,04 Milligramm Clenbuterol (entsprechend einer Tablette morgens und abends). Daneben wird Clenbuterol in Kombination mit dem Schleimlöser Ambroxol eingesetzt, um eine Bronchitis (Entzündung der Bronchien) mit gesteigerter Schleimproduktion zu behandeln.
